The Indianapolis Colts are tied for first place in the AFC South and have a good chance to take the division, a feat many did not think possible after their 3-5 start. With just 3 games left in the regular season, the Colts are tied with the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Houston Texans at 8-6. However, the Jaguars still have the division within their control as they win the tiebreakers. If the Colts want to make this impossible feat to win the division possible, they will need to have a game up on the Jaguars.
The Colts have the Atlanta Falcons, Las Vegas Raiders, and Houston Texans to end the season. Indy controls their destiny over the Texans as they play them at the end of the year, but the Colts will probably need to win all three of these games in and hope the Jaguars lose at least one. The Jaguars remaining 3 games – Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Carolina Panthers, and Tennessee Titans. Out of those 3 games, the division leading Buccaneers will be the toughest game, keeping in mind that Jags QB Trevor Lawrence is under concussion protocol this week.
A Look into the Colts Remaining Schedule

Week 16 – The Atlanta Falcons
The Atlanta Falcons are a 6-8 team that had a promising start to the season at 2-1. As of late, they have struggled offensively, especially with turnovers and these offensive woes have caused the Falcons to make a change at QB from Desmond Ridder to Taylor Heinicke, who is a veteran journeyman QB with many moments of success in this league.
This matchup will be a good one for the Colts as their strengths defensively can exploit the weaknesses of Atlanta’s offense. On the other side, the Colts’ offensive strengths will be tough against Atlanta’s defense. Overall, Atlanta’s defense has been the reason why they even have 6 wins and have remained fairly competitive in their first 14 games. This game will come down to the Colts defense stepping up and paving the way for the offense to get points.

Week 17 – Las Vegas Raiders
Before the 6-8 Raiders play the Colts, they will have the Kansas City Chiefs on the road which should be an interesting matchup as Las Vegas is fighting for their playoff lives. After firing their head coach, Josh McDaniels and looking to Antonio Pierce as interim head coach, the Raiders have been one of the most up-and-down teams in the league. Through 6 games under coach Pierce, the Raiders are 3-3 with 0-3 loss and a 63-21 win. They also played the Dolphins and Chiefs very tough in a losing effort.
Statistically speaking, nothing about the Raiders jumps out from the page, but they are one of those tough teams that can easily steal a game. Raiders QB Aidan O’Connell is a rookie who has had a fair share of inconsistencies this season. It will be interesting to see how the Colts defense reacts.

Week 18 – Houston Texans
The Colts will end the season against a division opponent who is currently tied with them in the AFC South at 8-6. This matchup will be a highly anticipated game and will definitely have huge playoff implications. If not for the division crown, then it will be for a spot in the wild card.
Texans QB CJ Stroud is the front-runner to win Rookie of the Year and anytime a defense has had to play against him, it has been a rough matchup. The Texans are a very complete team in the fact that they can run well with Devin Singletary and throw the ball all around the field with their rookie QB. The first matchup against the Texans, the Colts got off the a quick start and never looked back, but Stroud was able to take advantage of their secondary in the second half. As mentioned, this will be a highly anticipated matchup.
